Barry G. Katz is founder and President of Caratel.  Mr. Katz offers you a wealth of knowledge, skills and real world experience.

Mr. Katz is licensed by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards to use the professional designation Certified Financial Planner™. As a CFP™ professional, Mr. Katz must adhere to a strict code of ethics and meet continuing education requirements that insure you obtain the best and most up-to-date advice available. Mr. Katz is a NAPFA-Registered Financial Advisor. NAPFA (the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors) is the only professional association representing true fee-only financial advisors.  He has recently completed a four-year term on NAPFA's  Board of Directors.  Immediately prior to this Mr. Katz served as the South Region's Chair (consisting of thirteen states, the South is one of four NAPFA regions) for the 2002-2003 term.  Immediately prior to this he held the office of South Region President for two successive terms. He has held other elected positions on the region's Board of Directors for five years, as Vice-President (1998-2000) and Conference Chair (1994-1997). 

As a Board Member Mr. Katz has a direct impact on the future of the Financial Planning profession. As a member of NAPFA, Mr. Katz is committed to the highest standards for Compensation, Comprehensive Planning and Competence.

Mr. Katz is also a member of the Financial Planning Association (a merger between the  Institute of Certified Financial Planners (ICFP) and the International Association of Financial Planners (IAFP). Mr. Katz served on the Board of Directors of the FPA of Broward County (2001).  He previously served as the local ICFP Society's Chairman (1995/96) and President (1994/95),  

Serving the local community, Mr. Katz actively participated as a mentor in local schools and volunteers in the classroom.

Mr. Katz holds a BS degree in Finance from Syracuse University and an MBA (Masters of Business Administration) degree from Florida Atlantic University.  He has an extensive business background with over 10 years of commercial banking experience working for international, national and regional banks prior to Caratel's formation in 1991.

Caratel and Mr. Katz are registered in the States of Florida and Connecticut as an Investment Advisor and Principal of Caratel, respectively.
